29.肚子和肢体, The Belly and the Members (dù zǐ hé zhī tǐ)

Yǒu yī tiān ， shēn tǐ de gè gè zhī tǐ tū rán fā xiàn tā men zhǐyǒu zuò kǔ gōng de fèn ér ，

有一天，身体的各个肢体突然发现它们只有做苦工的份儿，

ér dù zǐ què néng bù láo ér huò de xiǎng shòu suǒ yǒu de shí wù 。

而肚子却能不劳而获的享受所有的食物。

yú shì biàn zhào kāi dà huì ， jīng guò yī lún ér de tǎo lùn hòu ，

于是便召开大会，经过一轮儿的讨论后，

tā men jué dìng bà gōng zhí zhì dù zǐ tóng yì chéng dān dǎn zì jǐ de gōng zuò 。

它们决定罢工直至肚子同意承担自己的工作。

jiē xià lái yī 、 liǎng tiān ， shǒu jù jué qù ná shí wù ，

接下来一、两天，手拒绝去拿食物，

kǒu yě bù chī dōng xī ， yá chǐ gèng wú shì kě zuò 。

口也不吃东西，牙齿更无事可做。

yī liǎng tiān hòu ， shēn tǐ de gè gè bù fèn kāi shǐ gǎn jué bù shū fú 。

一两天后，身体的各个部分开始感觉不舒服。

shǒu wú lì tí qǐ lái ， zuǐ bā yě kǒu gān shé zào ，

手无力提起来，嘴巴也口干舌燥，

shuāng tuǐ jǐ hū wú fǎ zhī chēng zì jǐ de shēn tǐ 。

双腿几乎无法支撑自己的身体。

tā men què fā xiàn dù zǐ réng jiù shí shí zài zài de wèi shēn tǐ gōng zuò zhe 。

它们却发现肚子仍旧实实在在的为身体工作着。

gù shì shì shuō ruò bù tóng xīn xié lì yī qǐ gōng zuò ，jiù huì zāo yù fēn bēng lí xī gòng wáng de xià chǎng 。 

故事是说 若不同心协力一起工作，就会遭遇分崩离析共亡的下场。

One fine day it occurred to the Members of the Body that they were doing all the work 

Yǒu yī tiān ， shēn tǐ de gè gè zhī tǐ tū rán fā xiàn tā men zhǐyǒu zuò kǔ gōng de fèn ér ，

and the Belly was having all the food.

So they held a meeting, and after a long discussion,

yú shì biàn zhào kāi dà huì ， jīng guò yī lún ér de tǎo lùn hòu ，

decided to strike work till the Belly consented to take its proper share of the work.  

tā men jué dìng bà gōng zhí zhì dù zǐ tóng yì chéng dān dǎn zì jǐ de gōng zuò 。

So for a day or two, the Hands refused to take the food,

jiē xià lái yī 、 liǎng tiān ， shǒu jù jué qù ná shí wù ，

the Mouth refused to receive it, and the Teeth had no work to do.

kǒu yě bù chī dōng xī ， yá chǐ gèng wú shì kě zuò 。

But after a day or two the Members began to find that they themselves were not in a very active condition:

yī liǎng tiān hòu ， shēn tǐ de gè gè bù fèn kāi shǐ gǎn jué bù shū fú 。

the Hands could hardly move, and the Mouth was all parched and dry,

shǒu wú lì tí qǐ lái ， zuǐ bā yě kǒu gān shé zào ，

while the Legs were unable to support the rest.  

shuāng tuǐ jǐ hū wú fǎ zhī chēng zì jǐ de shēn tǐ 。

So thus they found that even the Belly in its dull quiet way was doing necessary work for the Body,

tā men què fā xiàn dù zǐ réng jiù shí shí zài zài de wèi shēn tǐ gōng zuò zhe 。

and that all must work together or the Body will go to pieces.

gù shì shì shuō ruò bù tóng xīn xié lì yī qǐ gōng zuò ，jiù huì zāo yù fēn bēng lí xī gòng wáng de xià chǎng 。
