There was once a Bald Man who sat down after work on a hot summer's day.

yī zhī cāng yìng zài tā de tū tóu ér shàng bù tíng de wēng wēng luàn jiào ,

A Fly came up and kept buzzing about his bald pate,

bìng qiě shí bù shí de dīng tā de tóu pí 。

and stinging him from time to time.

The Man aimed a blow at his little enemy,

jiē guǒ yī bā zhǎng dǎ dào le zì jǐ de tóu shàng。

but acks palm came on his head instead;

cāng yìng yòu fēi guò lái jiǎo rǎo tā , dàn zhè yī cì ,zhè rén biàn cōng míng le 。

again the Fly tormented him, but this time the Man was wiser and said:

tā shuō dào : “ rú guǒ nǐ tài zhù yì bēi liè de dí rén , jiāng zhǐ huì shāng dào zì jǐ 。 ”

"You will only injure yourself if you take notice of despicable enemies."
