8.狐狸和乌鸦 (The Fox and the Crow) iconsound

yī cì , yī zhī hú lí kàn jiàn fēi lái yī zhīzuǐ lǐ diāo zhe nǎi lào de wū yā tíng zài shù zhī shàng。

一次,一只狐狸看见飞来一只嘴里叼着奶酪的乌鸦停在树枝上。

A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree.  

hú lí zì yán zì yǔ dào : “ zhè gè yīng gāi guī wǒ , yīn wéi wǒ shì hú lí ” 。

狐狸自言自语道:“这个应该归我,因为我是狐狸”。

"That's for me, as I am a Fox," said Master Reynard,

yú shì tā zǒu dào zhè kē shù xià 。

于是它走到这棵树下。

and he walked up to the foot of the tree.

tā hǎn dào : “ zǎo ān ! wū yā fū rén , nǐ jīn tiān kàn qǐ lái hěn hǎo ,

它喊道:“早安!乌鸦夫人,你今天看起来很好,

"Good-day, Mistress Crow," he cried.  "How well you are looking to-day:

nǐ de yǔ máo rú cǐ de yǒu guāng zé ,nǐ de yǎn jīng yě hěn míng liàng 。

你的羽毛如此的有光泽,你的眼睛也很明亮。

how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye.  

The Crow lifted up her head and wǒ xiāng xìn nǐ de gē hóu yě huìchāo guò suǒ yǒu de niǎo ér ,

我相信你的歌喉也会超过所有的鸟儿,

I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, 

jiù xiàng nǐ de shēn cái nà me de měi miào 。

就像你的身材那么的美妙。

just as your figure does;

ràng wǒ tīng nǐ chàng yī shǒu gē , wǒ yào xiàng duì dài ‘ bǎi niǎo ér zhī hòu ’ bān de xiàng nǐ zhì jìng ” 。

让我听你唱一首歌,我要向对待‘百鸟儿之后’般的向你致敬”。

let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds."

wū yā tái qǐ le tóu , kāi shǐ fàng shēng gāo gē , dàn jiù zài zhè yī kè ,

乌鸦抬起了头,开始放声高歌,但就在这一刻,

began to caw her best, but the moment 

tā kǒu zhōng de nǎi lào diào zài le dì shàng ,   

她口中的奶酪掉在了地上, 

she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground,

hú lí mǎ shàng qiǎng le jiù pǎo。hú lí shuō: “ xíng le, zhè jiù shì wǒ xiǎng yào de 。

狐狸马上抢了就跑。狐狸说:“行了,这就是我想要的。

only to be snapped up by Master Fox.  "That will do," said he.  "That was all I wanted.  

wèi le bào dá nǐ de nǎi lào ,

为了报答你的奶酪,

In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the  future

wǒ gěi nǐ de wèi lái yī jù zhōng gào , bù yào xiāng xìn ē yú fèng chéng zhě   ” 。       

我给你的未来一句忠告,不要相信阿谀奉承者 ”。

"Do not trust flatterers."
